Moody Air Force
Base promotes Earth Day at W.G. Nunn
Greg
Haugen and Elvis Lane of 23 CES/CEV at Moody Air
Force Base visited the 3rd grade students of
Adia Long (WGN 3rd grade) and Anne Cardella (WGN
gifted) to help educate students about various
environmental and conservation issues. Students
were able to discuss how they and their families
conserve water, electricity, and gasoline. It
was noted that conservation not only helps the
environment, but it also saves our families
money when we conserve.
Students were given activity books and pencils
(made of recycled materials, of course) and
t-shirts promoting "Earth Day is Everyday."
The environmental specialists of the 23rd Wing
help MAFB comply with state and local
environmental compliance issues involving water,
air, toxic materials, and wildlife. They visit
local schools yearly to educate students and
celebrate Recycle Day (November 15th) and Earth
Day (April 22nd). Thank you, MAFB!
