A Valdosta High School student and teacher were honored May 2 at the Capitol during The State of Georgia Official Observance of the Days of Remembrance by the Georgia Commission on the Holocaust and the Georgia Department of Education.  Jordan Rickman won 4th place in the statewide competition for his pastel depicting the lessons of the Holocaust, and Narci Drossos received the 2008 Distinguished Educator Award for a lesson plan she submitted on GeorgiaStandards.org.  She was recommended by her students Noah Adler and Raili Oaks and Vice Principal Ansel Cox at VHS.  Georgia Power, sponsor of the Days of Remembrance, will award Mrs. Drossos $1000.
