Valdosta High
School Wind Symphony Scores Straight Superior
Ratings
The Valdosta High
School Wind Symphony, under the direction of
Michael Thomas and Andrew Hill scored straight
superior ratings on their onstage performance at
the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA)
District 8 Performance Evaluation held in
Waycross, Georgia. Mr. Thomas and the Valdosta
High School Band program have had a successful
two-year stint with over 80 trophies with the
Marchin’ Cat’s to include back-to-back Grand
Championships and back-to-back straight superior
ratings at GMEA District Performance
Evaluation! Future performances for the
Valdosta High School Band program include: a
joint Jazz Concert with Valdosta Middle School
Jazz Band on Tuesday, April 22, the Wind
Symphony Spring Concert on Thursday, May 15, and
a joint Percussion Ensemble Concert with the
Valdosta Middle School Percussion Ensemble on
Monday, May19. All Performances begin at 7:00pm
and will be held in the Valdosta High School
Performing Art’s Center.
