The
Valdosta City School System recently launched Connect-ED, a
school-to-parent telephone notification system, as part of the school
system’s efforts to communicate more effectively with parents.
Connect-ED will also be used for staff communications.
School administrators
will have the power to make one phone call and reach all parents in
minutes. Valdosta City School principals, teachers and administrators
will use Connect-ED to notify parents of student absences.
Connect-ED also will
enable system administrators to reach parents immediately in the event
of a division or school-wide emergency. The system can deliver up to
3,000 messages within minutes – ensuring that our parents quickly know
what’s going on in the case of an emergency.
To receive these
messages, the school must have your up-to-date contact information. If
you move, change jobs or obtain a new cell phone number, be sure to
provide your child’s school with the new contact information so you
won’t miss a single Connect-ED message.
